A couple of days ago I featured a winter-themed Etsy treasury by another Etsy seller.  You can check it out here.

Today, I wanted to show you two winter-themed treasuries that were collated here at Good River Gallery!  Snow came late to Ohio this year – we didn’t get our first real snowfall until December 21 – winter solstice.  We also got snow a little while after Christmas and tomorrow I’ll show you a photoshoot i did with my lovely model Danielle, in the snow.  But the snow is gone again…  So, I’m not quite bored with it yet!  Maybe next week…

And…. here’s an older one.
Winter Wonder Collection
Its getting close to the new year!  Have you made your resolutions yet?  I haven’t… and unless something drastic has changed since I wrote this, I probably haven’t done my holiday shopping yet, either.  I always put it until last minute.

My thanks to everyone who came out for the Glass Axis holiday sale!

There is still time for a few Good River Gallery beady events this year! Currently running – a trunk show of patterns, and brand new beads at the Bead and Glass Boutique in Pitman NJ.  Even if you’ve been checking out my Etsy shop, there are beads at her store that only she and I have seen (unless you’ve been there already).

And… of course there’s a class and its coming up soon:  the Dragon Scales Bracelet at Gahanna Bead Studio in Ohio.
  •  Dragon Scales Bracelet.  Sun, Dec 16 1-4pm.
    • We’ll have a limited number of colorways available as kits at the store, or feel free to contact me for a list of supplies. Because of this option, materials are not included in the class price this time, but they are all available for sale at the store.
    • You need to be comfortable with even count flat peyote stitch to take this class.

Happy beading!  And I’ll talk atcha again in the new year!  Have safe and Happy Holidays and a healthy new year.  Remember…  friends ALWAYS let friends drink and bead (Carol got me started on chocolate wine, so its all her fault), but please drive safely.

For my friends in the US, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends or family.  To my mom…  HAPPY BIRTHDAY (a few days ago)!  For my wonderful international friends, I hope you are gearing up for a lovely holiday season. If you are in the Middle East, I hope for continued safety.  And if you are on the East Coast of the US, I hope you are recovering from the storm at the beginning of November.  I have lots going on this upcoming month!  I hope you’ll join me for some of the events. The photo (above) is from Prague a number of years back, taken just around this time of year.My thanks for this month to my dear friend Christina (Good Quill Hunting), who sponsored a wonderful contest that required us to use feathers.  You can see my results and read more about it in some of my earlier blog posts from this month. Also, thanks go to my lovely and ever gracious model, Danielle, who makes my pieces look really fabulous and sweetly works around my schedule.  Thanks also to Jennifer Wilson, who allowed me to be on the SoftFlex “Spotlight On” for them this month.  You can see the article (and photos of Danielle) at http://www.softflexcompany.com/WSWrapper.jsp?mypage=spotlightdesigner_Nov12.html

The Glass Axis Holiday Sale in Columbus Ohio is scheduled for the December 7-9.  I’ll have finished jewelry for sale including brand new items with a holiday theme.  And some Buckeye stuff ’cause I can’t seem to help myself.  For more details, keep your eye on this blog.  I’ll post more about it soon.I’ll have a trunk show of patterns, and beads at the Bead and Glass Boutique in Pitman NJ.  Everything should be set up on December 10th and run through the end of the year. And… of course there are classes.  Well, so far only one, but its a doozy (not because its hard, just because it has had a wonderful response).  Due to popular demand, we’re going to do the Dragon Scales Bracelet at Gahanna Bead Studio in Ohio.

I’ve been finished with my Kalmbach Bead Soup piece for quite a while, but I just couldn’t get a good photo of it on my jewelry bust because it was just too long.

As a reminder… The whole idea stemmed from Lori Anderson, who has hosted a “Bead Soup Blog Party” for a couple of years now.  You can read about the original idea here: https://sites.google.com/site/beadsoupparty2012/.  Anyhow, Lori has written a book based off her Blog Party called Bead Soup: 32 Projects Show What Happens When 26 Beaders Swap Their Stash.  You can get it on Amazon.  Its less than $14.00.  I ended up getting it for my Nook and the downloadable version was just under $11.

So – finally had a chance to photograph it on Danielle.  And I don’t think that it needs much more discussion.

My thanks to everyone who came out to the Circleville Pumpkin Patch, and I hope you have a fun Halloween!  I know it isn’t quite November yet, but since there’s so much going on, I wanted to send this out early.First things first… Thursday I found out that THREE of my classes have been accepted for Bead & Button 2013.  I’ll be teaching Soutache (photo below), the Garden Trellis Bracelet (photo below) and boro lampworked flower beads.  My classes are all on Tuesday and Wednesday!

CIRCLEVILLE PUMPKIN FESTIVAL
Oct 17-20
My work will be at the glass Axis booth at the festival again this year.  Look for brand new necklace designs.  I’ve already started making earrings so I hope to have quite a few gift-priced items.  If you live in central Ohio and haven’t been to this festival, its really a slice of the Midwest.  Don’t miss it!

Well, six days in and I’ve already missed a day of blogging.  And today is going to be a throwaway.  Last night I got overwhelmed by a project and by the time I stopped working on it, it was 12:30 and I had to get up early this morning to run errands before I took the rest of the morning and afternoon off with my friend Barb.  We went to the Ohio Renaissance Festival.  And yes, we dressed up.  If you are my Facebook friend, then maybe she’ll post photos and tag me and I’ll share.
I have absolutely nothing of any use to say today anyhow.  Except that the project I’m working on is going to be my newest pattern and I’m really tickled by it.  And I need to buy more seed beads because I don’t have enough in this house.
By the way, I found the photo on Beading Daily’s Facebook page and it was also forwarded to me by Candys… and I haven’t actually finished my project yet.
Stay tuned…
