I’ve decided to take part in another one of Lori Anderson’s Most Excellent Blog Hops – and this one is right up my alley – its all for bead hoarders!

Well, I have to say that I was a little bit slow on the ball here.  Everything is back on track now, but the deadline was the day after Shawn and I returned home from the Club Bead Retreat at Club Med (Florida) and I promptly got the creeping crud.  Which reminds me that I still have to tell you about the Retreat…  Another time.

Anyhow, my first partner out of two (this is kind of random but her beads arrived first so I’m going to talk about them and her first) is

Barbara S Fernald – https://barbarasfernald.com/

Barbara does incredible silver clay beads.  Be sure to read her blog and then check out her lovely gallery of work (https://barbarasfernald.com/gallery/)

Ready to see what she sent?  I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with them yet…

First of all they were beautifully packaged, which is something to this day I’m no good at doing…

And then JUST LOOK at these lovelies…  I can just see why she hoarded the lampwork – and then she included some of her own pieces!  I’m so spoiled.

Want to read more about the blog hop?  Here’s my intro…

Whoohoo!  I’m taking part in the 2017 Bead Soup Blog Party: Hoarder’s Edition!

After a little bit of a late start (I forgot to tell you about how wonderful the Club Bead Retreat in Florida was and, of course, it was RIGHT BEFORE I was supposed to send beads out), I got my beads in the mail to BOTH of my partners!  I’ll introduce them to you separately in posts tomorrow, but for now, just say hello to

BARBARA FERNALD https://barbarasfernald.com/

and

LIZ ENGRISER  http://beadcontagion.blogspot.com/

I’ll wait until they get their beads to tell you what I sent to them.  Of course I forgot to take photos.  But the idea was, of course, that you send a bead you’ve hoarded.  Since I’m not a bead hoarder (and if you believe THAT I have a bridge to sell ya), I had NO TROUBLE AT ALL DECIDING WHAT TO SEND (anyone up for that bridge?)!

Anyhow, if you’d like to read more about Lori’s Blog Hops, head on over to her website and blog.

and for the instructions on the blog hop:

Anyhow, I’ll talk tomorrow about my partners and don’t forget to stop on by their blogs tomorrow (I’ll include links).  Also stop by ALL of our blogs on March 25th to see what we all created!

Here it is!!!! It’s reveal day for the BEAD SOUP BLOG HOP!

Just as a reminder, here’s what my partner, Darlene Fortier, sent to me.

I used the yellow matte beads, the pearls, the focal bead and the clasp. I added some 8/0 metallic AB green beads, some silver wire, beads and spacers, and some crystal.  I stashed the antique steel cut seed beads in with my drawer of “favorite things ever.”

The bracelet is sized XXS, and it fit me perfectly and I ADORE it.

As a reminder, late last month, I signed up for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party.

As a reminder, late in january, I signed up for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party.
You can read more about it here http://goodrivergallery.blogspot.com/2013/01/bead-soup-blog-party-sign-ups.html.

My Bead Soup Blog Party Swap Buddy is Darlene Fortier!  Darlene owns Darlicious Rejuvenations and in her own words she “creates one-of-a-kind recycled and salvaged jewelry with a hint of bike.”

You can see her her Etsy Store – http://www.etsy.com/shop/darlicioushouse
Or… you can follow her blog – http://www.darliciousrejuvenations.blogspot.com/

Here’s what she sent to me.  I’m not going to use the antique steel cut seed beads.  Why not?  Well, I collect antique seed beads, so they are just going into my own super secret dragon stash.  I haven’t decided what to do with the vintage glass vintage triangles, but the rest have been combined with some Toho 8/0 metallics.  Here’s what I have so far – its a bracelet!

I plan on adding… what else?  Fringe!  I’ve tried making some bellflowers using my new Carlo Dona press, but they just too big and took over that focal bead by George O’Grady.  So…  stop by on the reveal day (March 30) to see what I’ve done!

Since I’ve nothing else to write about today, I thought that I’d just snag the whole list of participants for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party off of Lori Anderson’s Blog.  But for some reason I couldn’t get the HTML to work out.  And so I spent a bunch of time trying to read through the code line-by-line, but this blog just isn’t buying it.  Apparently I can’t save the document without my account getting upset with me.

Just as a reminder, I am taking part in this huge online thing.  I got my beads in the mail (right) from Darlene and actually have started work on the piece already.  I’m making a bracelet.  Around March 15th, I’ll show you where I am at that point, and then the full “reveal” and first part of the party will be on the 30th. There are two more reveals after that date.

So… here’s the link to all of the 80 gazillion participants on Lori’s blog (actually there are 500).
http://lorianderson-beadsoupblogparty.blogspot.com/2013/01/final-list-for-bsbp-7.html

Some time this week/month/year I’m going to try to visit as many as I can and comment.  How many can you view?

So, here’s what I sent to her!

There was another package too, with a handmade clasp and some other goodies that I’d forgotten to put in this package and photograph – hopefully she’ll let me know those arrived.

And here’s what I got.  I’ll have a preview of what I’ve made on or around March 15th and the final piece reveal is due on March 30th.

As a reminder, late last month, I signed up for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party.
You can read more about it here http://goodrivergallery.blogspot.com/2013/01/bead-soup-blog-party-sign-ups.html.

Today, my bead soup came in the mail from her.  I have a couple of ideas on what I’ll make with it, but my reveal date is on March 30, so…  keep an eye on this blog and you can see it then!

It includes
*A sterling silver clasp
* A lampwork bead by Kevin O’Grady
* Matte AB seed beads
*  Antique steel cut seed beads – I don’t think I can bear to use them, they get rarer and rarer.
* Vintage Czech Glass Beads
*Pearls

She also put in a little “gifty” packet, which I thought was super sweet.  Thank you!  She should be getting her bead soup from me today.  So, here’s a preview of what I sent to her, and keep an eye on her blog to really see it!
