Voting is now open for the August Challenge of my Etsy team – The Etsy Beadweavers.

Kristin, winner of the June “Mystery” challenge, selected our August challenge theme.
She decided that the theme would focus on HEAT!

Pieces have been inspired by August heat, intense white heat, fiery hot passion, global warming trends (our earth is getting hotter), sexy passion, and more.

The photo they used for my piece is actually not the best; I think they may have made the mosaic before I uploaded photos from my photo shoo with Danielle…  Here’s a better photo of my Phoenix Fire Necklace.

Phoenix Fire “Fawkes” was create for the 2012 August Etsy Beadweaver’s Challenge. He is approximately 6″ high and hangs from a St. Petersburg bead woven chain that is approximately 18″ long. Piece cannot be lengthened or shortened.

I was further inspired by Chihuly’s wonderful glass chandeliers. I created 30+ separate glass “fire” pieces to use in this necklace as well as two pyrex glass beads.

Every month, we vote on the challenges. The winner selects the next open challenge. To help us vote, please visit our team blog. You can vote anytime between now and August 15th.
