I’ve just about got everything packed to ship to Crystal Bead Bazaar in Pittsburgh for my classes and trunk show! If it doesn’t head into the mail today, it’ll go on Monday via priority mail so I can travel lightly.

Crystal Bead Bazaar is one of my very favorite bead stores. And they’ve moved to a larger location – I can’t wait to see the new space!

I’m teaching four classes there – all on different levels and also bringing in a trunk show of new beads (and some glass floral pendants) as well as some new kits. I also have a few PDF CDs left of my tutorials.

There’s still some room left in my classes! To register, call the store – 412-687-1513

Nothing but Fringe
Friday, October 23rd, 1-4 $45 plus materials

In this fun workshop, students will expand their knowledge of fringe and fringing techniques. This is not a ‘project’ class, but rather a technique class. The right fringe can make a piece even more special. Let’s go over the top!!

Arabian Nights Pendant (photo top)
Saturday, October 24th, 10:30-5:30 $75 plus materials

Once upon a time there was an Arabian Princess who captured the heart of her king by telling him a portion of a story every evening. She might wear something like this overembellished tri-sided crystal pendant with attached bail, had Swarovskis been invented at the time. This is an intermediate to advanced class. Use square rivolis and odd count peyote and too much fringe for this over-the-top project. Also teaches triangular peyote. Students need to be really comfortable with peyote stitch and seed bead weaving.

Royal Ruffles Bracelet

Sunday, October 25th, 12-2:30 $45 plus materials
This was my entry into the Etsy Beadweaver’s bridal challenge. It fits a size 6.5-7″ wrist, and is approximately 1″ wide. Japanese Glass Beads and freshwater pearls. Make yours in your own size and either use a glass button closure, or learn to make your own toggle clasp (details below).

Peyote Toggle
Sunday, October 25th, 3-5 $35 plus materials

This is a great class for all bead weavers. Never have to purchase a clasp for your beadwork again! Use delicas and glass seeds to make your own version of this handbeaded toggle clasp. This class is level 3 out of 5. That puts it at an Intermediate class. Students will learn a toggle clasp made of peyote stitch. Students should already be familiar with even count flat peyote stitch before they begin this project.
